However, at the start of the game Mamluks start as the 2nd great power, above everyone else bar Ming, and that includes the Ottomans, and their army size is bigger than Ottomans too. With a super power like France, you have the military might to take territory from other colonial nations to feed your own, Even with a nation like Scandanavia, you can settle Canada (also the thirteen colonies if you are strong enough!)
